Donna Best Practices

The essentials for successful interactions with Donna

Updated this week
  • Talk to Donna like you talk to a human rather than a chatbot. Use sentences instead of only keywords. Articulate well.

  • Reply non-ambiguously and clearly what you want (directly related to what you want Donna to do)

    • Say “yes, add this please” instead of “yes”

    • Say/type “Number 1 is correct” instead of “1”

    • Say/type “change the name Marek to Mark” instead of “Mark”

    • Say/type “I do not want to add anything else” instead of “no”

  • Reply directly related to what you want Donna to do

    • Say “Yes add another task” instead of “add” or “yes”

    • Talk to her about one report at a time. While combining them is possible, it’s best if you mention them to her separately to avoid confusion

  • Communicate with Donna one message at a time. Wait for her response before sending the next message to avoid any unintended actions.

  • Provide enough context for Donna

    • Don’t just write down or say a name, give Donna some more information

      ❌ “Mike Zuckerberg”

✅ ”I just had a meeting with Mike Zuckerberg”

  • Just like us, Donna might need some clarification.

    • If Donna doesn’t find your contact by voice note, clarify with a text message

  • Start & close your conversation with Donna

    • “Hey Donna….”

    • “No, that’s it for now; thank you”

    • “No that is all”

  • Use the “stop” command to have Donna clear all context from your last interaction

    • Very useful when you or Donna get stuck
